The landlord sells the house. Now what?

If the landlord wants to sell the house, a stalemate often arises: the landlord is not allowed to cancel the rent, but if he sells the house with tenants present, the selling price will drop considerably. The tenant will have to choose between looking for another room or staying in a house where the atmosphere is most likely ruined. In such a case, the best solution is to sit down together and make a compromise. To accommodate the tenant, the landlord can, for example, help with the search for replacement accommodation, give more time to look for another room and / or offer a severance package (also called "oprotpremie").
